The LUNA-II builds upon the key strengths of the LUNA™, namely low running costs, ease of use and reliable data, but introduces new optics for improved results.
The integrated software accurately detects live/dead cells, and discriminates the count from cell debris. Individual cells detected within cell clusters are also successfully counted by the LUNA-II™’s sophisticated de-clustering algorithm.
The LUNA-II introduces novel liquid lens autofocus technology, where the Z position of the sample is rapidly obtained by applying a small voltage to the liquid lens. This innovative technology does not require mechanical movements, so is quiet and has no maintenance requirements even after several million cycles.
As with the LUNA™, the LUNA-II allows users to export data via USB stick as TIF or annotated TIF images, as well as comprehensive PDF reports. For customers who require a hard copy of data, the LUNA-II can be ordered with an integrated thermal printer. Counting results can then be printed immediately for record keeping purposes without the need for connecting external printers.
