The CYP2C19 c.1A>G Novallele Genotyping Assay identifies a single nucleotide change within the CYP2C19 gene associated with a common allele, CYP2C19*4. The CYP2C19*4 allele results in poor metabolism of a variety of drugs including mephenytoin, omeprazole, esomeprazole, and lansoprazole. The impact on drug metabolism is characterized by deficient synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids.
